Jouer meeting

During our first meeting since the holidays we clarified what we were working on individually and discussed how to move forward. We made a small poster each, detailing what we intend to do.

People - Sue was looking at famous alumni from MMU, and experimented with 175 175s - knots, drawings etc, and plans to make an installation with embroidered paper strips hanging possibly from a lampshade. She will also use some of my quotes.

Journeys - Safia looked at the idea of journeys, and drew while walking different routes on luggage tags. She will look further at the idea of anniversaries.

Place - Jacob walked around Manchester taking 175 photos as he went round corners. He and Ollie will go on to possibly use film, adding in some of Safia's drawings where routes cross over and will find 175 seconds of music.

Time - Ollie went round MSA taking 175 interesting photos at different times of day with different lighting.

Play and Materials - I looked at quotes from MMU alumni but my focus now will be 175 colours and 175 paper experiments. Although the aquarium photos provided a good source of inspiration and cemented the idea of colour for my project, they aren't really relevant to the MSA theme, so I will base the colours on Ollie and Jacob's photos as well as some of my own.

We like the idea of our projects overlapping, and remaining playful, and I thought it might be good to show the others an origami technique, which I plan to do next week. Safia will get each of us to draw a label, and we could each take photos and come up with quotes about MSA.
